Millions of people saw Queen Elizabeth II travel from Edinburgh to London as masses gathered in front of Buckingham Palace to bid her farewell. On Tuesday night, Queen Elizabeth II made her final voyage, making the plane carrying her body from Edinburgh to London the most closely monitored flight in history.
On the Flightradar24 website and through its YouTube livestream, just over 5 million people in total watched the flight live.
Flightradar24 reported that compared to the previous record of 2.2 million views — set when US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan in August — the Royal Air Force C-17 Globemaster had more than twice as many people tracking it online.
Thousands of people braved the drizzle in front of Buckingham Palace to watch the Queen's funeral drive by. People cheered and screamed "God save the queen!" as the car pulled up to the gates.
